Happy Easter Octave! He is risen!

Horrible blogger here. Just not enough hours in the day lately.

We had a lovely Easter. I was sent into a tizzy the Thursday before by two vomiting children, thinking that we'd have to cancel hosting Easter dinner, but they recovered the next day, and everyone stayed healthy throughout the weekend.

Easter Mass was lovely, and everything turned out well for Easter dinner. I made Rainbow Jell-O again, and despite some mishaps it came out pretty well:

Collin's grandmother wasn't feeling well and couldn't make it, but the rest of our family was able to come, and they all seemed to enjoy the dinner and spending time with the kids. Even Violet, who was going out of her way to use Grandpa as a jungle gym:

We even managed a (blurry) family picture:

I didn't do very well with my Lenten committments - turns out our parish Stations of the Cross were at 5pm, not 7pm, so I never made it to one of those. Adoration is only on Friday afternoons, and I didn't make it to that either. I did get to daily mass one week and confession twice, but otherwise it was a fail. I didn't get any of my spiritual reading done either. *sigh* Next year I'm going to do something that's not quite so dependent on my crazy schedule.

BUT... we have, as a family, prayed the Divine Mercy novena almost every day so far. And it hasn't been has difficult as I'd feared. Gabriel, as it turns out, likes holding his "wosawy" and hanging out with us as we pray, and will sometimes join in. Violet gets easily distracted but I expected that, and the older two do pretty well. So we're going to try incorporate a family rosary or divine mercy chaplet into our bedtime routine.

I sent a picture of Peter around to my co-workers today, and one of them commented that he looks just like a Cabbage Patch doll.

As it turns out... he does! Proof:

Elanor's First Holy Communion and Confirmation is a week from tomorrow! Please pray for her (and for me as I prepare for the reception we're hosting afterward).
